Ask your child to sort the silverware from the dishwasher to drawer (stick to just forks, spoons and knives, first.)
Match the socks from the laundry.
Build lego towers of each color.
Find little pieces of nature for each color. (Here’s a paper to collect them on.)
Fill a jar/bottle with rice and some tiny objects, glue on the lid, and see what you child can find.
Draw a picture of all the circular things in the house … now can you find any triangles? … squares?

SOUND
Get out those baby rattles, put on some music, and have a dance party … to the beat!
Make some good old fashioned shakers with beans and recycled containers.
Learn some of the instruments from the orchestra (here). Can you figure out which one is playing when you’re not looking?
Find Ella Jenkins, Elizabeth Mitchell, Woody Guthrie, Suni Paz, Lord Invader, on Spotify or Pandora for some kids music you won’t mind so much.
TOUCH
Make a mystery bag of 6-10 random objects of various textures. Can your child figure out what you put in there, just by touching.
How many textures can you find in nature? How about just the things that fall from trees?
Find some socks with different textures. Can your child match them without looking?
Have some fun with shaving foam or soap bubbles.
Play-dough is fun for any age! Here’s a recipe if you don’t have any.
SCENT
Do you have any herbs in the garden/fridge? Play a little blindfolded guessing game. You could also try, condiments, spreads (like jam, pb, honey), fruits, essential oils, tea, or spices (but be careful with these!)
TASTE
Do a taste test for snack! Take a few things from the pantry/fridge and eat blindfolded.
